LIIAR ANALYSIS: FRONT COVER

Front Cover
L-
The front cover of my magazine is going to have to have a running house style, house style is important to any magazine this is because it means the magazine has a running consistency of colour, and that means that you can tell that it all belongs to the same company or in this case magazine. Using a certain colour theme creates house style and by creating it people can recognise the brand more and begin to trust the magazine more as it doesn’t change and looks professional. My magazine will have a running house style because I want it to look professional and trustworthy to the public so that people will make a relationship with the product and make it a continuous product to buy. The house style will run throughout the magazine and it will all relate to each other and the logo, it is important that the house style relates to the logo because it makes you know that the pages belong to the brand which makes the brand and logo more noticeable to the public. I have not chosen the colours for my magazine yet but when I do I want at the most three colours however I like the idea of using two, the colours will be bright so that they are noticeable to an audience and make the magazine enthusiastic to the target audience. Also when thinking about using colour you have to think of what genre of music you are going to feature as the colours will have to match up with that for example red and black is usually associated with rock or punk sometimes even alternative. Whereas bright pink and blue and other bright colours are associated with pop.
The dominant image on the page will be the model, or models depending on what I want to feature on my magazine the lead person of a band or the band as a whole. This will also reflect and what kind of shot I want of the model/s. If I use one model it will probably be a medium close up of waist upwards and she will hold some kind of prop that relates to the music this could be a microphone or guitar etc. I would use a medium close up because I think they create a better relationship with the audience than a long shot and a close up would be too much detail and won’t be able to feature the props. If I use the whole band I may use a medium close up of the main band leader and the rest of the ban in a long shot behind it is hard to decide in this moment of time however ideas will progress as the project goes on. I do know however that the image will be the most dominant on the page and the band or leader used will relate to the main story.
The title will be short and snappy so that it is memorable, and sticks to the public’s mind, it will be main on the page because I want people to be able to see it and remember the name so they buy it in the future. The title will obviously be related to music or maybe initials that stand for something there are many ways in which to present the title, you could even make the title the logo or icon depending on how creative you are with it.
The thumbnail images will be along the left hand side structured in whatever way matches the genre of music if its rock or alternative they will look good spread around in random places to match the buyer’s personality. If it’s pop they will be big and stood out in a neat order which matches everybody’s personality as a majority of people listen to more pop than anything else.
The price of the magazine will be around £2.00 and will be a monthly issue the magazine has to be fairly cheap as the target audience are around 15+ which makes it affordable a month for them. As many people that age are still in education or have a low paid job and can’t afford pricey magazines. People also like to get value for their money which they will in this magazine.
I-
My magazine will be different to other publishers magazines as it will be unique by providing value for money there will be plenty of different stories and pages for people to look at and read, it will feature not just one band many different ones targeting a wider audience. The quality of the magazine will be to a much higher quality including top glossy paper which will not crease or bend or be ruined when teens put them in their bags.
I-
I want the magazine to have a positive attitude upon its target audience obviously. I want them to also feel satisfied with the magazine I want them to feel as though they are getting the best quality and their value for money. I want the audience to feel as though they are proud to buy the magazine and sign up to become a continuous buyer.
A-
My target audience is both male and female over the age of 15+ when I decide upon the genre of the music the target audience will become easier defined however I think that the genre of the magazine is most likely to be alternative rock music or pop/r&b music as I feel that they are the most popular areas of interest and will be easier to target as there are more popular bands in those criteria’s.
R-
I want my magazine front cover to be represented in a positive way I want people to feel satisfied with the magazine and feel as though they got their value for money. I want them to have this feeling towards the magazine as then it will get good publicity and be spread by word of mouth which is the most popular way to get teens to buy a magazine as if they here it’s good from their friends they will trust their opinion and purchase the magazine.
